Project Overview:

The Downtown Transit Center was built to serve the growing ridership of Vermont's largest public transit authority. Built on a former city street, the site presented multiple challenges, including limited lay-down area and a tight building footprint requiring a complex, supported excavation system. The transit center offers a bright, safe loading area as well as an indoor climate controlled waiting area. Other amenities include electronic route information, public restrooms and a staffed ticket kiosk. The new facility also provides a spacious break room for drivers. Requiring a 16-month construction schedule, the project was completed on time and under budget.
